See you at the pole
Wednesday of this week was a special day called “See You at the Pole (SYATP).” It is an important day of recognition for praying for the schools in the community. Each year there is a gathering of thousands of Christians at school flag poles around the country.
For the second year, I participated in this prayer for our schools. On Sunday evening before, about 60 people gathered at the Madera Unified School District Office for a kickoff prayer time, at which time we prayed for the school administration, faculty, support staff, and all other staff who are in authority in the Madera County School District. It was a special time, as we prayed and heard prayers for others. A unity of spirit was formed of many who are concerned for the safety and guidance of all who are involved in the school system.
From the district office that Sunday evening, the participants went their own ways to the elementary schools in Madera, to pray for the individual schools, then to the middle schools, and finally to the high schools in Madera. I went to John Adams Elementary School and prayed with others there.
