Sheriff’s deputies make arson arrest

A Cal Fire vehicle sits near a contained arson fire Monday afternoon on Road 400 near the Adobe Ranch. The suspected arsonist was arrested later in the day.

Madera County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and CalFire responded to Road 400 near the Adobe Ranch for a reported fire on Monday at about 3 p.m. 

The cause of this blaze was determined to have been workers using a tractor.

While units were committed to this incident, a CalFire engine crew leaving the fire saw a suspicious subject running back to his parked truck.
