Shots fired during robbery

Winding roads and alcohol are a recipe for disaster
A 46-year-old driver from Seaside lost control of his 1972 GMC C10 while navigating a curve in Madera County on Monday. The truck left the roadway, and came to rest on a descending dirt embankment, on Road 400, near Hensley Lake. The driver was found to be driving under the influence — more than four times the legal limit.

Tip leads to arrest
The Madera County Sheriff’s Investigations Bureau received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) activity occurring in Madera County. Detectives identified 27-year-old Madera resident, Dylan Jeffrey Strobel, as a suspect in this case. Loitering check leads to meth seizure
Madera Police Department Officer Jesse Quintana conducted a check on a male he noticed loitering at Tesei Petroleum. Although the male was initially compliant, his behavior changed after he learned he was going to be searched. It was at that time that the male, later identified as 47-year-old Yaohui Huang, quickly discarded a box wrapped in a large amount of tape. Huang immediately began to stomp on the box before he was controlled by officers.

Multiple arrests for DUI on Saturday
In response to the recent violent crime the community has experienced, Madera Police Officers remained proactive throughout the weekend. As a result of this proactive enforcement, officers made four DUI arrests Saturday night.
