Young Ladies Grand Institute #118 Madera (A Catholic women’s organization) presented a $500 donation to Madera County Superintendent of Schools (MCSOS).

This donation was given in recognition of their Grand President’s Annual Program called “Silent Voices Heard.” This program addresses the needs of the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Traditionally, deaf and hard of hearing students within Madera County attend “The Silent Sleigh” event in Fresno, hosted by the California Air National Guard. This event features a festive parade, stage performances, and the opportunity for students to sign their Christmas wishes to Santa Claus.

The $500 donation will be used to offset the costs associated with transportation of the deaf and hard of hearing students to this worthwhile event.
