For many of us, on Easter we celebrate the third day after Jesus was brutally killed, when he did something that he had promised he would do. According to the gospel as related by Luke, Jesus told his disciples, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about

A sticky situation
Sakurai Midori, Wikimedia Commons Enhance your morning with delectable sticky buns, along with a cup of coffee, cocoa, tea or juice. The morning I sat down to write this, I was wondering what type of recipes to feature. Itching and scratching
I may have mentioned a few times in past articles that I came from the area of our country known as the “South,” and I grew up knowing quite a few expressions that are particular to that region of the United States. I’m not sure you can divide a southerner from the expressions we use. We don’t think about them. They are just part of our language. Most of them make perfect sense to others, but there are some expressions we have to explain. I had a friend many years ago who was

When it’s good to be crabby
Ahha, Freerangestock.com Seafood lovers cherish a platter of tasty crab legs. A cooked artichoke is a good go-along for such a meal. A favorite meal at our house involves each person getting a whole cooked Dungeness crab, cleaned, cracked and ready to eat, along with a big artichoke, both fresh from the coast. If we are very lucky, the crab has been sourced right from the docks and not from a freezer. As I am writing this, my husband is cooking and cleaning the crabs. He aske
