Hanna Lane, a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge 327, serves coffee at breakfast the third Saturday of each month. Pictured, from left are David Simpson, Lane, and Nancy Simpson.
On the third Sunday of every month, Madera Odd Fellows Lodge 327 has a breakfast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. It is a mighty good breakfast, and included in the meal is two eggs, two pieces of ham or sausage, and three pancakes, with orange juice and coffee. The price is only $10. Kids eat for $6.
My husband, David, and I enjoy this great breakfast, and we try to make it over there each month. There we always find folks we know, because this breakfast is not a secret. The Odd Fellows have been serving it for more than 60 years, faithfully, every third Sunday each month.
I’m not fond of pancakes, so I request toast with my meal. I like my eggs over easy, and they are usually cooked exactly as I like. Those folks who do the cooking know what they are doing.
