Troy Parker and his dog find respite at the Pan Am Center during last year’s cooling center activations in Madera. The City of Madera will open a cooling center Thursday and Friday at the Pan American Community Center, 703 E. Sherwood Way.
Due to the high temperatures, the City of Madera will open a cooling center from 8 a.m.-7 p.m., Thursday and Friday, at the Pan American Community Center, 703 E. Sherwood Way.
Refreshments and activities will be provided for participants.
The Madera Police Department’s front lobby, at 330 S. C Street, will also operate as a 24-hour cooling center.
