New Burrito King owners Maira, center, and Erica Castro, with help from her daughter Natalia, left, cut the ceremonial ribbon after taking over the restaurant from their retired parents.
For just the second time in the 46 years since Burrito King first opened, new owners will take over, but it will still remain in the family.Â
Edelmira and Raul Castro moved from Napa to take over the Mexican restaurant after Eldelmira’s brother was ready to get out of the restaurant business. And now, after last week’s official ribbon cutting and retirement ceremony, daughters Erica and Maira will take over the business.Â
The Madera community came out to support Burrito King last Friday. The Castros received certificates from State Senator Anna Caballero, State Assemblywoman Esmeralda Soria, the City of Madera represented by Mayor Cece Gallegos, Councilwoman Anita Evans, and Madera County represented by Leticia Gonzalez.Â
