The Madera Community Hospital Foundation held its 28th annual fund-raising dinner-dance, Riverboat Rendezvous, Saturday evening at Isla de Vista Farm off Island Drive northeast of Madera.
The second Love Madera event broke records locally as more than 500 people signed up to help and many others who hadn’t registered showed up on Saturday to lend a hand.

Wine lovers and winemakers celebrated California Wine Month, and especially the Madera region known for dessert and port-style wines, during a wine tasting reception at Cru Winery.
Both McNally Park and the John W. Wells Youth Center saw more than 40 volunteers arrive at each site as part of the Love Madera effort for community betterment.
