Year ends with homicide

Madera Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on New Year’s Eve. 

Officers responded to the 300 block of E. 14th Street for a report of shots fired at 8 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found an adult male in his 30s suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Officers, along with fire and EMS, performed life saving measures, however the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. This was the city’s third homicide of 2023.
