Sr. Farmer dinner set for Houlding
The Madera Chamber of Commerce will honor the 2024 Senior Farmer of the Year Dinner, Robert Houlding Jr., at a dinner on October 3 at the Madera Municipal Golf Course.
The dinner will recognize Houlding Jr. for his remarkable 55-year career in farming and contributions to local agriculture in Madera. Bob’s father, Robert Houlding Sr., was honored with this award in 1998.
Bob, along with brothers, Jerry and Mike, formed Houlding Brothers in 1967. Over the years, they expanded their operations to include a diverse array of crops that include almonds, cotton, tomatoes, garlic, and wheat. Along with family, Houlding Jr. continues to manage approximately 680 acres of almond farms in Madera.
