Late rally leads Hawks to victory

Liberty’s Hudson Groh throws a pitch during Wednesday’s 5-2 victory over Edison. Although he allowed two runs, Groh tossed a complete game, two-hitter in the win. He struck out 11 and retired the final 14 batters in order. 

 

The Liberty hawks baseball team suffered its first loss of the season in the Fresno Easter Classic, but bounced back with three wins to close out the tournament. 


The Hawks saw their 12-0 record to open the season get a blemish with a 5-4 loss to Redwood to open the Fresno Easter Classic on Monday. However, the Hawks bounced back for an 11-3 win over Reedley on Monday, and an 11-4 win over Pleasant Grove on Tuesday. 


The Hawks closed the tournament with a 5-2 win over the Edison Tigers on Wednesday at Mel Parker Field.
