Liberty’s Damian Sandate is all smiles as he approaches home plate after his two-run home run tied the score in Wednesday’s 8-4 victory over Hanford at Clovis West’s Stan Bledsoe Field.
FRESNO — After struggling through the Fresno Easter Classic, the Liberty Hawks baseball team closed the tournament with a come-from-behind 8-4 victory over the Hanford Bullpups at Clovis West.
The Hawks trailed 4-1 after the third inning, but scored a run in the fourth and two in the fifth to tie the score before breaking out with four runs in the top of the seventh for the victory Wednesday afternoon.
Freshman Damian Sandate highlighted the Hawks with his first varsity home run, a two-run shot in the fifth.
