Liberty’s Carly Jimenez is greeted by her team after hitting a three-run home run in Tuesday’s tournament loss to Buchanan.
CLOVIS — Liberty Hawks softball coach Keith Davis knew his team was going to take some lumps at the Buchanan Easter Classic, but hoped his team could put up a fight against some of the top teams in the Central Section.
The Hawks, who won last year’s Div. III Central Section title, faced off against four Div. I teams at this week’s Easter Classic, and the results weren’t good. The Hawks suffered mercy-rule losses to Clovis North, Sanger, Madera and Buchanan.
Against the Bears, the game was over after the first inning.
