CLOVIS — The Madera Coyotes softball team took advantage of a slumping Liberty Hawks to record a 12-0 mercy-rule victory at the Buchanan Easter Classic.

The Coyotes scored 12 runs on nine hits, and were helped by five Liberty errors.

Madera pitcher Viviana Nombrano held the Hawks to just one hit (a single by Trinity Cervantes) to pick up the win. She struck out nine and walked three.
