Liberty’s Mauro Farinelli rises up over a Kennedy defender for a shot during Friday’s Hawk Classic loss.
The Liberty Hawks boys basketball team had trouble hanging onto the ball, and then making shots when they needed to in a 50-28 loss to the Kennedy Thunderbirds in the semifinals of the Hawk Classic.
The Hawks committed 34 turnovers and were outscored 29-13 in the second half in Friday’s loss at Liberty. They were also 8-of-17 (47 percent) from the free throw line.
“It’s hard and frustrating when we keep turning the ball over,” head coach Johnny Gonzales said.
