CLOVIS — The Liberty Hawks softball team had a rough first day at the Buchanan Easter Classic earlier this week.
After a 6-0 loss to Madera to open the tournament, the Hawks lost to the Clovis Cougars, 12-2 in the second game.
However, the Hawks battled back for a 6-1 win over Hanford to open Tuesday, in the first of a tripleheader. They defeated El Diamante by a 10-0 mercy rule in the middle game, and closed with a 10-2 win over Hanford West.
