Hundreds flock to airshow

Hundreds attend the annual Gathering of the Warbirds airshow Saturday at the Madera Municipal Airport.

Sunny skies Saturday brought car and plane enthusiast out from all over the Valley to enjoy a bit a history at the World War II 75th anniversary of D Day Invasion of Normandy, featuring Warbirds and a classic car show of that era.

Music filled the air at the Madera Airport as did the buzzing sounds of the variety of WarBirds from P51-D Mustang RedTail, Stearman Navy NS2, even a Russian Yak 11.

The variety of the old classic cars and trucks stretched the length as far as the eye could see. Visitors were Welcomed to the show by Master of Ceremonies, Chuck Carson, as music from that era played in the background.
