Class to show how to pickle fruit

University of California Master Food Preservers will be on hand 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Madera District Fairgrounds to show participants how to make various gift items by pickling fruit.
These items include:
• Quick freezer jam so it can be used to make an upside down cake later
• Frozen and dried fruits
• Pickles
• Pie fillings
• Jams, jellies and marmalades
• Vinegars
• Fruit sauces and syrups
• Chutneys
• Spiced apples
