Fire at Evans Feed warehouse

Cal Fire Madera fire fighters respond to a fire at a warehouse across the street from Evan’s Feed off of 7th street Tuesday evening.

Cal Fire Madera responded to a smoke check at the warehouse structures along 7th Street, but it was quickly upgraded to a commercial structure fire. 

Cal Fire engines responded Tuesday at about 6 p.m., and found heavy fire within stacked wood chips and hundreds of baled sawdust for livestock near the warehouse. 

The fire made its way to two warehouse structures across from the Evan’s Feed store. However, Cal Fire was able to keep the fire within the two structures and keep the interior of the warehouses from going up in flames. 

However, there was extensive smoke damage in both structures. The south building also caught fire, but fire fighters quickly extinguished that blaze. 

Responding to the fire were Engine 56, Truck 58, Engine 57, Engine 1 and Engine 19.
