Mountain Vista to be honored
Mountain Vista High School will be recognized as a Model Continuation High School (MCHS) at the 2018 California Continuation Education Association (CCEA) State Conference, scheduled for April 27–29 in San Diego.
An award certificate will be presented to principal Aimee Anderson at the conference by a representative from the California Department of Education (CDE).
A team from the CDE conducted a validation visit and prepared a report which includes how the school met the criteria for recognition as a Model Continuation High School. This information will be included in the booklet that will be distributed at the conference.
Mountain Vista students will have the opportunity to participate in the MCHS Student Essay Contest. Essay contest winners will also be recognized at the conference. The designation period is from April 2018 to March 2021.
“This is such gratifying news and validates the incredible teamwork that Mountain Vista High demonstrates each week. They are dedicated to helping kids beat the odds,” said Todd Lile, superintendent.
