Not pretty, but Coyotes beat Stallions in three

Madera’s Jayden Martinez punches over a ball during Thursday’s three-set victory over Madera South. Martinez tied for the team lead with six kills while the Coyotes outhit the Stallions 40-28.
The Madera Coyotes boys volleyball team controlled most of the match in a three-set sweep over the Madera South Stallions in Joe Flores Gym.
However, Madera head coach Rhonda Jefferson-Counsel had to call late time outs in two of the three sets before her team won 25-18, 25-18, 25-23 Thursday evening.
The Coyotes outhit the Stallions 40-28 and out-blocked the Stallions 8-3 in controlling the match.
