Madera’s Emilio Torres rises over the Torres block to put down a kill in Tuesday’s three-set victory over the Toros. Madera had 37 kills as a team in the win.
Five days after picking up a three-set rivalry victory over the Madera South Stallions, the Madera Coyotes boys volleyball team recorded a three-set victory over the Matilda Torres Toros.
Even with a slight line-up change, the Coyotes controlled most of the match. Torres took advantage of some Madera self-inflicted mistakes to keep the second set close, but the Coyotes closed the match with a 25-22 victory Tuesday.
Madera outhit the Toros 37-23 in kills, and had five different players record five or more kills. Torres was also called for nine net violations on Coyote attacks.
