Madera County crime log for Sept. 18-24

The following are incidents reported by the Madera County Sheriff’s Department.

Monday, Sept. 18

3:28 a.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the 22000 block of Avenue 18 1/2 in Madera to assist San Francisco Police Department with an attempt to locate a possible parental abduction of a child out of their county. Deputies contacted the suspect and found the child, who was unharmed. The child was returned to the father. The suspect was turned over to San Francisco Police Officers. A report was written and forwarded to San Francisco Police Department.

5:46 p.m. — Deputy was attempting to conduct a traffic stop regarding a motorcycle in the area of Ellis and Chapin streets in Madera. The motorcycle ultimately wrecked; the driver only had minor injuries. The driver was cited for a California Vehicle Code violation by Madera police.

Tuesday, Sept. 19

7:10 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the area of Road 33 1/2 and Avenue 9 in Madera regarding a report of a hit-and-run with a vehicle hit by gunfire. A report was written and forwarded to detectives for follow up.

1:57 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 35000 block of SR 41 in Coarsegold regarding a person attempting to cash a counterfeit check. Upon arrival the suspect had left the area. Currently, the suspects are unknown. The reporting party is contacted and a statement is obtained. A report will be forwarded to detective unit for possible follow up.

2:31 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 33000 block of Road 228 in North Fork regarding a possible child abuse investigation. Upon arrival the allegations were unsubstantiated. A general incident report is taken and follow-up will be conducted with the Madera County Child Welfare Services, due to the current living conditions of the children.

Wednesday, Sept. 20

9:45 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 32000 block of Mission Drive in North Fork regarding a family disturbance. During the investigation it was determined the intoxicated adult female had become involved in a physical altercation with her 71-year-old mother. Both the mother and the arrestee sustained minor injuries. Arrestee also broke out the living room window and caused damage to her mother’s parked vehicle. Mother did not wish to file any charges and declined any medical attention. Arrestee was located outside the residence and found to be in an agitated and intoxicated condition. She was placed into custody and transported to the Madera County Jail. Due to her inebriated condition and the likelihood the disturbance would continue. Arrestee was detained at the county jail until she had time to become sober. Arrestee was released under the authority of 849 (B) PC. No charges were filed and this case is closed.

Friday, Sept. 22

4:38 a.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the 35000 block of SR 41in Coarsegold regarding a male subject banging on the door of a home. According to the reporting party, the male subject stated that he was being followed and was requesting law enforcement help. Deputies conducted an investigation and learned that the male subject was a danger to himself and others. The male subject was placed on a temporary hold under the W&I 5150. A report was completed and the case was closed.

10:28 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 39000 block of SR 41 in Oakhurst regarding a deer attack. A report was taken for documentation purposes only. A copy was forwarded to fish and wildlife wardens and Lentz and Stevenson.

3:10 p.m. — Deputy responded to the 10000 block of Road 35 in Madera regarding an AWOL juvenile from Valley Teen Ranch. The juvenile was seen getting a ride out of the area. A report was taken and forwarded to detectives for review.

Saturday, Sept. 23

8:50 a.m. — Deputy responded to the 10000 block of Road 25 in Madera regarding a grand theft and vandalism report. The reporting party said unknown subject took several hundred gallons of fuel and damaged the property. Case is pending until further leads.

8:12 p.m. — Deputies saw vehicles spinning donuts in a business lot in Madera. Deputies attempted an enforcement stop and a pursuit ensued. Vehicles were not apprehended. A report was written for documentation.

Sunday, Sept. 24

11:41 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to a gas station in Oakhurst to meet a male regarding a report of a runaway teenage female. During the investigation it was determined the teenage juvenile had run away from her mother’s residence in Friant earlier in the day. She is possibly somewhere in the Oakhurst area with friends. The juvenile was entered into the NCIC Missing and Unidentified Persons System. The case has been forwarded to the Sheriff’s Detective Division for follow up investigation.
