Liberty’s Macie Webster throws a pitch in Saturday’s victory over Taft. Webster picked up two victories Saturday. She allowed 10 runs, but only two were earned, and struck out 14 batters.

The Liberty Hawks softball team improved to 4-0 to open the season, but it wasn’t the best looking way to do it.

The Hawks defeated Taft, 10-5, and Hoover, 6-5, on Saturday at the Buchanan Preseason tournament. However. Liberty head coach Keith Davis wasn’t happy with the way his team won.

Macie Webster, literally, shouldered the load in the two games. She tossed two complete games. Although she allowed 10 runs, only two were earned while the Hawks committed 11 errors behind her.
