Monday, July 10
3:43 a.m. — A deputy was dispatched to the 26000 block of Ellis Street in Madera regarding a suspicious person. The subject was arrested and booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections.
11:34 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 36000 block of Avenue 17 regarding a 90-year-old female screaming and pulling her daughter’s hair. The older woman was suspected to be a danger to herself and others and was taken W&I 5150 to Madera Community Hospital by EMS.
3:23 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to a home in the 28000 block of Avenue 14 in Madera. A 36-year-old male adult allegedly grabbed his 59-year-old mother by the throat and slammed her against the wall inside her home. The man was arrested and booked into the Department of Corrections; case to be forwarded to District Attorney’s Office to pursue charges.
Tuesday, July 11
10:30 a.m. — Deputy responded to a home in the 34000 block of Jennifer Lane in Coarsegold regarding a mentally disabled adult causing a disturbance. The subject was found to be a danger to others due to his disability. He was placed on a 5150 and taken to Madera Community Hospital for evaluation.
3:05 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Sky Ranch Road in Oakhurst regarding a report of check fraud. The reported suspect had a possible address out of Fresno. The report was forwarded to detectives for follow-up.
Wednesday, July 12
3:16 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to a home in the 34000 block of Jennifer Lane in Coarsegold regarding a domestic-violence assault complaint. The subject had fled to area prior to the deputy’s arrival. The subject was later located at another home in the 31000 block of Road 400. However, he ran into the heavy brush before the deputy could apprehend him. Charges were filed with the District Attorney’s Office.
9:24 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to Angel Falls and Road 274 in Bass Lake regarding a subject slipping into the water and getting stuck. Units responded to a Code 3 and the subject was rescued. The subject was not hurt and refused medical attention.
1:55p.m. — Deputy responded to a residence in the 40000 block of Meadow Vista Drive in Oakhurst regarding a subject who was breathing but non-responsive. The subject had taken an overdosed of a prescription medication. The subject was placed on a 5150 and taken to a hospital. His mental health caseworker was notified.
1:49 p.m. — Deputy responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Road 425A in Oakhurst regarding a burglary. A mower and small utility trailer were taken. There were no strong leads at this time. Possible suspect was an older white male driving a newer model dark red Ford F150 with Oklahoma plates.
Thursday, July 13
11:45 a.m. — Deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Road 200 and Weatherly Lane in North Fork. The driver was cited for vehicle code violations and a passenger was cited for providing a false name to law enforcement; case to be forwarded to District Attorney’s for charges.
2:10 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Mountain Lane in North Fork regarding harassment via social media. A report was taken and forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for possible charges.
Friday, July 14
12:14 a.m. — Deputies were contacted by a victim of a vehicle theft in the area of CA Highway 41 and Civic Circle in Oakhurst. It was later determined the victim had a vehicle taken from him that had not yet been reported. Upon checking the area of Road 426 the deputies found the vehicle and the occupant. Deputies conducted a vehicle stop and the driver of the vehicle, who did not have permission to drive the vehicle, was taken into custody. The driver was booked into the Madera Department of Corrections and the vehicle was turned over to its rightful owner. A report was sent to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office.
8:22 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 37000 block of Road 222 in Bass Lake regarding a fight between two juvenile campers. A report was taken and the case was closed.
12:22 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Redbud Drive in Oakhurst regarding a possible elder financial abuse case. After completing the investigation it was determined a possible victim did not suffer any monetary loss. A general incident report was created for documentation purpose only.
9:49 p.m. — Deputy arrived at a scene of a traffic collision in the area of Road 36 and Avenue 15 in Madera. Deputy discovered one fatality resulted from the traffic collision; Case forwarded to the Madera County Chief Coroner.
Sunday, July 16
Deputy was dispatched to the 1200 block of Almond Avenue in Madera regarding a coroner case. Witnesses were contacted and statements obtained. Next of kin was notified. Photos were taken and booked into evidence at the Sheriff’s Office. A request was made to have decedent’s remains removed by A&R Mortuary Service. Report was written and forwarded to the chief deputy coroner for follow-up.
