Swim team holds fundraiser

The Madera Coyote Div. II Valley Championship girls swimming team held a taco lunch fundraiser last weekend to help fund rings for the team.

According to head coach Erik Baymiller, the fundraiser was a success and the team is about $1,000 short of its goal. Donations are still being accepted.

“The community of Madera showed up big time and the girls wanted to give a little back to the community,” he said.

After the lunch, members of the team continued to make tacos and ventured to Courthouse Park and gave away lunches to the hungry.
