Stallions overwhelm Coyotes

In a 5-1 blowout , the Madera Stallions boys soccer team dominated both halves to beat rivals Madera Coyotes for the second time this season.
“The game went excellently for us,” Madera South head coach Fernando Delgadillo said. “We put ourselves in trouble more often than we need. Going into halftime 2-0, my halftime speech was to put a third one in before their first and that will seal the deal, but Madera South does things the hard way.”
It was all Stallions early after the home team had three excellent chances in the first 20 minutes of the match.
“I’m happy with this one and with the playoffs coming up, putting the ball in the net is very important,” Delgadillo said.
Nathan Diaz attempted the first shot of the game in the 13th minute from 25 yards out. The ball was fired wide left missing the target. The Stallions continued to pressure three minutes later after Alexander Castro fired in a free kick from 40 yards out, however Leonel Arvizu was unable to keep the ball on target after the shot went over the crossbar.
The Coyotes showed fight in the 19th minute after Cedric Saldanas fired the ball on target from 30 yards out. Mark Davila snuffed out the chance with a powerful punch.
The Stallions took the lead in the 36th minute after Diaz dribbled past his markers and dinked the ball past Robert Olguin.
The Stallions doubled their advantage two minutes later after Josue Ramirez pounced on the deflection by Olguin for the goal.
The second half began with a strong attacking mindset from the Coyotes. Raul Rivera brought one back for the Coyotes after he fired past Davila for the goal.
The Coyote’s fortunes would turn to a nightmare after the Stallions score three goals in the second half to win the match easily.
Miguel Barraza scored the third goal of the game after he dispatched the ball past the Coyotes goalkeeper.
Madera goalkeeper Juan Daza kept the game close after he made two ridiculous saves. Daza stood his ground saved two point-blank shots on consecutive attacks.
The Stallions closed out the game after Kevin Osuna pounced on the goalkeeper’s miscue for the easy score.
Christian Garcia scored the last goal of the game after he banged in a 20-yard free kick that brought the Stallion faithful to their feet.
