Chowchilla PD finds handgun
Chowchilla Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of 255 Washington Road regarding a suspicious vehicle parked in the area with subjects observed entering and exiting the vehicle. Officers conducted a vehicle check Sunday night near midnight, and found Jose Venegas of Merced and Nicolle Head of Chowchilla sitting in the backseats of the vehicle. Speedway opens with Late Model Series
Georgia’s Lane Christensen made the most of a one-race opportunity at Madera Speedway. The 14-year-old led an international field of drivers in the season opener for the 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series, steering to victory in his debut start in a 70-lap feature.
