Chowchilla PD finds handgun

Chowchilla Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of 255 Washington Road regarding a suspicious vehicle parked in the area with subjects observed entering and exiting the vehicle.

Officers conducted a vehicle check Sunday night near midnight, and found Jose Venegas of Merced and Nicolle Head of Chowchilla sitting in the backseats of the vehicle. 

During the course of the investigation, illegal narcotics were observed in plain view. Both occupants were removed from the vehicle and placed in handcuffs.
