Truck falls into gap after road erosion

For The Madera Tribune

An approximate 10-foot gap on Avenue 26 is washed away because of the January storms. Barricades were put in place, but didn’t stop the driver of a truck from going through the gap.

A few weeks ago, a gap on Avenue 26, near Road 26, appeared on the road, caused by the extreme rain.

The gap took out the roadway, and there is about a 10-12 foot section of the roadway that is no longer there. County crews put up barricades and signs to keep vehicles from running off the road.

However, that didn’t stop one driver from experiencing how wide the gap was early Monday morning.
