Tractor pull coming to Madera

For The Madera Tribune

The Whip, driven by Kevin Massetti, will compete in the 7200 pound modified tractor class at this weekend’s Golden State Invitational.

Madera’s Massetti family is proud to bring the Golden State Invitational to the Madera Speedway for two nights.

Today and Saturday will feature the best truck and tractor pulling action in the western United States, as well as three of the hottest new country music stars.

Tractor pullers from Nebraska, Oklahoma and all over California will converge to the Madera Speedway for two nights of ground-pounding action dragging the weighted sleds down the 320-foot-long dirt track. This is power-packed entertainment for all ages.

Following the pulling action on Friday night will be Georgia’s Jobe Fortner, performing an acoustic set on the Madera Blinds and Shutters stage behind the turn four grandstands, followed by Bakersfield legend Joe Peters with his full band singing hits such as The Whiskey Will.

Saturday night, fans will be once again treated to the hard-hitting truck and tractor pulling action with 70 competitors battling it out for the coveted Golden State Invitational championship rings.

Once the action on the track cools on Saturday, the Madera Blinds and Shutters Stage will once again crank up the heat. Joe Peters and his band will be back to rock the house, followed by Nashville’s Heath Sanders. Heath’s music such as his hit Raised on Red can be heard on many different music platforms.

Along with the Speedway café, fans will be treated to the Baked 559, Sipz, and BBQ the 3 Animals food trucks.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday with the pulling action starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, gates open at 4 p.m. with the action starting at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 each night for the pull and concert. Children 12 and under are $10.
