Shortly before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, a Madera County Sheriff’s Deputy was flagged down by a County employee, who reported observing a Hispanic male adult subject breaking into the Probation Administration Building on Road 28 in Madera.
The male subject fled on foot, and was ultimately located by deputies in a nearby vineyard. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Due to the circumstances of the call, nearby schools were placed on a lockdown during the incident. No staff or students were harmed or under direct threat at any time.
