School spirit

High school days should be some of the most fun and memorable times of a person’s life. It is the time of teenagehood — that interval of time when we are no longer considered a child, and not yet an adult. So, high school kids are kind of caught in between. 

However, it is a time when true friendships are first formed, and some of those friendships last throughout adulthood. I remember hearing my mother talk about her high school days and how much fun she had in high school.

My family moved to the big city of Atlanta, Georgia, during the summer months when I was 12 years old, between sixth and seventh grades. We rented a house for one year, and I attended an elementary school that included the seventh grade. There were no middle schools there. It was either elementary or high school.
