Reckless driver arrested

Several concerned motorists reported a black Jeep Grand Cherokee driving reckless and unsafe, on southbound State Route 99 on May 1 at about 6:15 p.m.Â
The Jeep was reported to be driving at high speeds, all over the roadway, and almost crashing with several vehicles. CHP Madera located the Jeep on eastbound Avenue 12, at the SR-99 overcrossing. The Jeep nearly crashed with a big rig as the driver of the Jeep attempted to pass on the right shoulder.
CHP Madera conducted an enforcement stop, and after a DUI evaluation, the driver was arrested. The 35-year-old man from Merced, was nearly three times the legal limit.
