Pedestrian hit by car

Saturday night, at about 9 p.m., Madera Police officers were dispatched to Raymond Road, just north of Cleveland Avenue regarding a vehicle versus a pedestrian traffic collision.


Upon arrival, Officers located a 53-year-old male subject lying in the southbound lane of Raymond Road, with trauma to his head and body. Officers and medical personnel provided life saving measures; however, he succumbed to his injuries sustained from the collision.


The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, and was identified as a 71-year-old male. He has been cooperative with law enforcement throughout the investigation. The collision is still under investigation, and it is still to be determined whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
