The Liberty Hawks softball team surrounds pitcher Macie Webster after she struck out the final batter of the game to send the Hawks to the Div. III semifinals on Friday.
Facing one of the toughest pitches they have faced all season, the fifth-seeded Liberty Hawks softball team persevered and came through in the bottom of the sixth to record a 1-0 victory over Mission Prep- San Luis Obispo to advance to the Div. III Central Section semifinals.
The Hawks will head to Wasco to face the top seeded Tigers on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
The Mission Prep pitcher struck out eight and didn’t allow a hit. The Hawks forced her to throw 101 pitches in six innings while drawing four walks.
