MCSO hosts awards, promo ceremony

Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue swears in new hires, those promoting and volunteers during Madera County Sheriff’s Office Swearing-In, Promotions and Awards Ceremony at Torres High School on Thursday.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office hosted a Swearing-In, Promotions and Awards ceremony to honor many new hires and promotions within the office last week.

“I love seeing the faces of the families,” Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue said at the ceremony. “Seeing the beaming smiles and the overflowing pride and love reminds me each time why we are here. Having the opportunity to meet the families and celebrate the well-earned accomplishments is humbling and reenergizing. You’ll notice we have several different positions being honored. We cannot do our jobs effectively alone. We rely and depend on our fellow teammates to hold up their responsibilities.”

Before the promotion ceremony and swearing-in started, Pogue announced three deputies who received awards — Troy Rodriguez, Charlie Robertson (twice) and Miguel Hernandez.
