Members of the Madera Wrestling Club are joined by some of the parents that will be making the trip to the United Kingdom to compete in the Jet Singh Memorial Cub next week. A group of 27 wrestlers and their families will be making the trip across the Atlantic.
A group of 27 from the Madera Wrestling Club (MWC) are doing something no other club from Madera is doing — heading overseas.
Madera Wrestling Club’s Sal Gonzalez will take 10 wrestlers, along with 17 family members to England to compete in the Jet Singh Trust Memorial Cup at Woverhampton Grammar School in the United Kingdom on July 13.
“Last year, we had a group from London come last year to the Jet Singh tournament I hosted at Madera South,” Gonzalez said. “The founders of the Jet Singh Trust came for the tournament this year in Madera. They just came to support what we’ve been doing this year.”
