Madera Linkage to host State of the District
The Madera Linkage Foundation and Madera Unified will host the second annual State of the District Address.
The reception for the State of the Union address will be from 4-5 p.m. on Wednesday in the Matilda Torres Theater lobby.
The address will begin at 5 p.m. in the theatre.
Madera Linkage will also induct the second class of its Educator’s Hall of Fame.
This year’s 2022 Hall of Fame Class:
Bill Coate — educator
Ed Gwartney — educator
Julia O’Kane — superintendent
Joe Vivid — principal
Sue Thornton — educator
Loretta Edwards — administrative assistant
Mardi Taubert — educator
Sharon Harlow — paraprofessional
Rachel Villareal — administrative assistant
Madera Linkage will also award its mini grants to educators within Madera Unified School District.
The Madera Linkage Foundation’s goal is to fill in gaps in funding for Madera Unified students. This year, they will give away $8,000 worth of mini grants. Grant recipients are:
