Law enforcement honors citizens

Fresno & Madera Counties Police Chiefs’ Association held its 33rd annual Citizen Awards Ceremony at San Joaquin Winery. Colin Dougherty was the Master of Ceremonies during the awards. Individual honors were given to more than 25 citizens from the cities of Fresno, Madera, Reedley and Sanger.
Among the dignitaries, who attended the August 16 event, were Madera Mayor Santos Garcia, and retired Madera County Sheriff John Anderson.
The ceremony honored citizens for their bravery and for their actions to help others in need. The presentations were given by the officers from Fresno County Sheriff’s Department, Fresno County District Attorney’s Office, Fresno Police Department, Madera County Sheriff’s Office, Madera Police Department, Reedley Police Department, and Sanger Police Department. Each presenter gave a description of the honoree’s actions that led to this award.
