Coyotes wait out rain for win over Torres

Madera’s Jaydian Chavira and Jacob Rodriguez combined to throw a perfect game in a four-inning 12-0 victory over the Matilda Torres Toros baseball team at Mel Parker Field.

The two teams began the game, but rain and lightning forced a delay in the bottom of the first inning. After an hour, 25 minute delay, the game resumed and the Coyotes took advantage of nine walks from Toros starter Will Valmonte for the victory.

“Today was a matter of dealing with the pesky weather,” Madera head coach Andy Underwood said.
