Madera Police Department weekend night shift officers responded to a burglary alarm at the AT&T Store in the 2200 block of Marketplace Drive.

While en route Saturday night, dispatch advised that a male suspect had forced entry into the business and was inside.

Officer Tristan Okpalaugo arrived first on scene and found the suspect, Arnaldo Reyes Cortez, 32, inside the store. Reyes Cortez was taken into custody without incident and later booked into the Madera County Jail on burglary-related charges.
