Avila captures National Championship

Madera Coyote Central Section Individual girls wrestling champion Madison Avila holds her National Womens College Championship trophy after winning the title earlier this month.

 

By capping off an undefeated run at the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships, Madera High School graduate Madison Avila captured the National Championship to go along with her Central Section title.


Avila, a freshman at North Central College swept through the 101-pound weight class at the tournament on March 4-5 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as the No. 4 seed.


She also helped the second-seeded Cardinals win the team championship.
