The Madtown 5k race and 2 mile walk begins at Cedar Creek.
A cold Saturday morning did not stop more than 30 runners and walkers taking part in the Madtown 5k race and 2 mile walk.
The Madera Branch of the American Association of a University Women (AAUW) sponsors the run-walk as part of their scholarship fundraising for high school women headed for college, sponsorships for middle school girls attending Fresno State TechTrek STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) summer camp, and an adult recipient of a Return To Learning scholarship at Madera Community College.
The race began April 26, and ended at Cedar Creek Senior Living, with its residents cheering them on, and, participating in the race. Race traffic control support included student members of The Madera Leos. Race finishers were rewarded with breakfast burritos, juices, pastries, and fruit provided by AAUW and Cedar Creek.
