The passing of a dear friend

It is with great sadness and with eyes full of tears that I have to write that my dear friend and colleague at The Madera Tribune, Tami Jo Nix, has passed away. 

She had many friends and fans in the community. I had the opportunity to work with her from Day 1 at the Tribune way back in 1997. That’s 27 years of friendship. 

Our beginnings didn’t start off on the right foot. I, being right out of college and thinking I knew it all, said, out loud, “What does Tami Jo even do in this office?” as she was coming around the corner. Talk about putting your foot in your mouth on your first days on the job.
