Arts Council planning Gala and exhibition

The Madera County Arts Council will play host at its annual Gala for the Arts on Thursday, June 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the San Joaquin Wine Company, 21821 Avenue 16.
It will feature live music of the 1950s by the local band J.E.R.K., with wine and beer poured by the San Joaquin Wine Company.
Also included will be a dinner, dessert auction, craft vendors and a display of classic cars.
Income from the event will go to support the Arts Council’s activities and the council’s Circle Gallery, 424 N. Gateway Drive.
Tickets are available at the Gallery for $50 each.
The Arts Council also will play host to Yosemite Western Artists’ 47th Annual Tri-County Art Show, May 9 through 28 at the Circle Gallery, admission to the show will be free.
The opening reception will be May 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery. For information, call 661-7005.
