Guess who’s to blame for all those new taxes
Blame the Dumbocrats in Sacto, who have a super majority, so they get everything they want. They passed an additional gas tax last month (another 12 cents per gallon of gasoline and 20 cents more for diesel, and increasing our vehicle registrations also.)
They have suddenly found they don’t have enough money to fix our roads. We have always paid a state tax on gas but I think they have been raiding that fund and using the money for other things like the slow speed rail.
Now, a state legislator named Wiener, yes, California has one, too, a Democrat, no less, is proposing that a tracker be put on everybody’s car so they can charge us by the mileage we drive every month and this is on top of the increase that just went into effect.
Californians are fighting back. There is a petition circulating now that intends to repeal this additional tax and also prevent the mileage tax. We need 540,000 valid voter signatures to get this on the ballot next November.
Gov. Brown had said he would not raise taxes without a vote of the people, and then went and did just that.
He will be gone in another year, but they have others just as bad waiting in the wings.

Madera Takes issue with editor’s view
Regarding Editor Doud’s editorial regarding Robert Mueller’s investigating Pres. Trumps collusion with the Russians. Michael (lock her up ) Flynn has plead guilty to lying to the FBI; George Papadopoulos, another member of the Trump team, has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. The attorney general lied under oath to the Senate about meeting with the Russians until the Fake Press proved him wrong, then he had to say he didn’t remember.
Donald Trump Jr. and Trump son-in-law Jerrod Kushner lied about meeting Russians until the Fake Press proved them wrong. Paul Mannafort, Trump’s one-time campaign manager, has been charged with money laundering between the Ukraine and Russia.
Editor Doud didn’t feel like Robert Mueller had much to investigate. Can you imagine what would be going on if this was the Obama administration? Maybe sometime rather than listening to Fox News we tune in to MSNBC or CNN.

Madera Bakers unhappy with Costa votes
Congressman Jim Costa (D-CA-16) is in the pocket of the nation’s beet and cane sugar cartels. Costa continually votes to maintain the U.S. Sugar program. Why? It is really quite simple, Congressman Costa received well over $159,000 in political donations from the sugar cartels since coming to Washington in 2005.
Thanks to Rep. Costa and others, the U.S. Sugar Program continues. The Sugar Program is a Soviet style command and control scheme that restricts planting and imports. This inflates the price of sugar in the United States to almost double the world price. So, when you go to the store to buy a snack cake or anything sweetened, you pay more!
According to the Congressional Budget Office, the program means Americans pay $3.5 billion every year in increased grocery costs, which breaks down to of upwards of $50 per family. In Rep. Costa’s 12 years in office, he has repeatedly voted against sugar reform, costing each California family an additional $600 for groceries.
You have to ask yourself, is my Congressman really fighting to make life better, or is he just another politician in it for the campaign contributions?
It’s time for Congressman Costa to step up and end this costly government giveaway to the cartels!
The Independent Bakers’ Association is an international trade association that fights to protect the interests of mostly family owned wholesale bakers and allied trades. For more information about IBA and sugar program corruption, visit IBAbaker.com.
