Sunrise Rotarians name Mathew Dorado as Student of Month


For The Madera Tribune Mathew Dorado was named Madera Sunrise Rotary’s student of the month for June. From left are his mother, Maria; father, Martin; Mathew; and club president Bill Sanders.

 

James Monroe Elementary School 6th grader Mathew Dorado was named the Madera Sunrise Rotary Student of the Month for June.

The son of Maria and Martin Dorado was involved in the school’s Children’s Museum, where he played the role of Joaquin Murrieta.

He participated in every sport at Monroe, including football on the district championship team, soccer, basketball, volleyball and cross-country. He is a brown belt in karate, in which he is a member of a demonstration team.

He also played the clarinet, for two years.

Mathew was the recipient of the Monroe Athletic Award, Mathematics Achievement Award, Perfect Attendance Award, the Youth Achievement Award from the Madera Rotary Club for Highest Academic performance and the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence.
