Stories prevail at Vukovich Classic

The Vukovich Classic is an annual event at the Madera Speedway to pay tribute to one of the Valley’s greatest racing families, and the event this year was led by storytelling that was like a movie script.

On the racing front there was a lot of action in many different races through-out the evening but the biggest cheers from the crowd came when Madera’s Kyle Vanderpool raced to a win.

Adam Lemke won in the USAC Western U.S. Midgets and Jesse Love on the Jr. Late Model Series race. Courtney Croke took the checkered flag in the BRCA midgets and Nick Halen won the Legends of the Pacific race. In the new West Coast Sportsman series, Luis Tyrell took the checkered.

Next up for the Madera Speedway is fan appreciation night that features a $5 grandstand ticket for everyone Saturday night.
